copper pipe feeds the washing machine – need to communicate?

This old house is really for me. There is a copper pipe supply Food washing machine tap. The pipe is corroded and torn. I'll cut it and attach a new pipe with a tap. I have no through solder a connection, if I intend to use more easily the type of pipe. What would be the best course to use (with tap Connect one end and a copper pipe on the other end.) Also, how can I contact in order not to flee? Please tell me Step by step, I'm not much of a handyman. Mr. Fish Bowl obvious both gave me very helpful answers. You can use compression fittings to make your repair. If, when you cut the bad section of pipe and the new valve can go in there, then you will not need copper pipe. Buy 5 / 8 "compression x 1 / 2" male thread. Buy 1 / 2 "hose bib female. Screw the two together and attach the compression fitting on the pipe.
